"Etc," or "Etc.,"?
Main Post:
Basically, if I don't intend to end the sentence with "Etc.", should the period be replaced with a comma, or should it just come after the comma?
Top Comment: Etc. requires a full stop after it every single time, because it’s an abbreviation of et cetera, similar to Dr., Mr., Ms., etc. If etc. is at the end of a sentence, the full stop at the end can serve two purposes: marking etc. as an abbreviation and marking the end of the sentence. However, if etc. comes before a comma or other punctuation, you do need both the full stop and the comma (or colon, semicolon, etc.). So the period (full stop) should come before the comma, in short.
I don't understand why people is buying ETC (Ethereum Classic)
Main Post:
I keep seeing the price of ETC going up and people saying that Ethereum becoming proof-of-stake will benefit Ethereum Classic as all miners are gonna move there. However, this is precisely BAD for the price because it creates tremendous selling pressure. Miners have to pay for electricity in fiat so all they mine they have to immediately sell it. They are not going to hodl the coins. Every day there's 17k new ETC mined which accounts for around 765k$. This means that assuming miners are selling everyday all they mine on the other side retail buyers must be buying this amount at least to sustain the price.
Miners are the ones most interested in pushing ETC price up as then it becomes more profitable for them to mine. People who is buying now is just providing exit liquidity for these miners. Unless the ecosystem really thrives I don't think this price can be sustainable in the future.
Thoughts?
Top Comment: They think it's somehow a subsidiary of ETH Same as Bitcoin Cash etc They are mostly surviving because of the name they have
Building an IT Department
Main Post:
I hope this is allowed. If not sorry and please tell me where I can post this. I got a job at this company 2 years ago. Their IT was a mess. I mean mess no AV, 20+ servers, one flat network, cameras with default passwords and so on lol. Anyway I started to fix the gaps and make it more standardize. Now they want me to build a department. Like hire people, IT policies, disaster recovery plan, and so on. How do you build a department? lol any advice is appreciated.
Top Comment: Hire for skills you don’t have. Find out the business pain points and address these first, if you haven’t already
Power Automate + MSP
Main Post:
I have an intern. He is interested in mixing Automation with AI. He would like to have a few 'small things' he can automate to help with the work flows we have. As he described it "I want make things that help, not just make automations for the sake of making automations."
So ... I thought I would ask here for suggestions to help him both get started and see value in what he makes.
How would or do you use automation for MSP workflows?
Top Comment: onboardings. Company HR fills out the microsoft form, power automate creates and licenses the account, sets groups, etc
Looking for advice on retirement (IRA’s, mutual funds, etc).
Main Post:
Late 30s single and about $170k in retirement portfolio. I have a company 401K with match, all through Vanguard. I considered signing up for advisor services where they invest on my behalf based on their research and advisors.
Problem is, I can’t get access at the moment because I’m labeled as an “insider” on my 401K for my IRA accounts which are separate. They’re looking into it but I can invest on my own in mutual funds but how do I know what’s best? My goal is to maximize contributions now for maximum amounts in retirement.
What’s the best way to match strategy with investments?
Thanks all!
Top Comment: You don’t need an advisor. List out the available funds that you have

Best starting point for learning AI agents & workflow automation (N8N, Zapier, etc)?
Main Post:
I want to get into creating automated workflows using AI agents. There are lots of tools out there (N8N, Relevance AI, Make, Zapier) but I'm not sure where to start. Which platform would you recommend for beginners? Looking for something that'll help me learn the basics while actually building useful automations.
Top Comment: I’ve used make and n8n, and would recommend n8n due to its built in agent nodes. I don’t think zapier is a contender here unless there has been recent developments I am not aware of. Also, n8n charges per flow rather than per node, don’t overlook that when comparing pricing. A flow could have 20 nodes for example, n8n would charge once and make 20 times. Relevance looks ok, I haven’t used it though, I imagine it’s more expensive. What are you trying to do? Integrations for each may be a consideration based on that.
